Shellys Beach - West Cape Howe
Bonito, yellow king fish, pinky's, sambo, and blue fin tuna.
Location and access - 30km west of Albany via Lower Denmark Rd then Cosy Corner Rd.
Salmon Holes - situated off Frenchman Bay Road
Best time to go salmon fishing March, April, May.
Salmon Holes is ideal for salmon and sharks. The main sharks caught there are bronze whalers, grey nurse and gummy sharks, flat heads, and herring.
Emu Point
King George whiting, sand whiting, flounder, flat head, bream, and squid.
Town Jetty
Fishing in the harbour can produce - fish such as bream (silver and black), King George whiting, herring, yellow tail scad, skippy, flounder, flat head, leather jackets, salmon trout, bay snapper, squid, octopus and cuttlefish. Our harbour is quiet healthy and all these fish can be found in good numbers though most of the year.
Did You Know?
The south west is great for our demersal species land based and offshore including, breaksea cod, harliquin, queen snapper, pink snapper, dhue fish, western blue groper, red bight fish, etc. Commen Pelagics are salmon, samson fish, yellowtail king fish and southern blue fin tuna. Smaller species are herring and skippy.
