Exciting things are happening at BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort!
At BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, we’re committed to continually enhancing the guest experience and creating even more unforgettable family holidays.
We’re excited to be preparing for the next chapter in our Resort’s story with a significant redevelopment that will introduce exciting new facilities and experiences for our guests to enjoy in the future.
As these works progress, this page will provide the latest updates so you know exactly what to expect before and during your stay.
Current Stage: Pool Construction, Building Foundations & New Condo Works (November 2026)
Exciting progress is expected to continue on our resort development throughout November, with construction moving into the next stage across several key areas of the project.
Work on our spectacular new lagoon pool is set to progress, with concrete foundations, steel reinforcement and the first sections of the pool shell scheduled to take shape. Construction of the new swim-up bar is also expected to commence, with foundations being poured and the first stages of structural work getting underway.
Across the new café and dining precinct, works will focus on the installation of essential underground services, foundations and concrete slabs, including those for the new amenities building.
Another exciting milestone planned for November is the commencement of foundation works for our ten new three-bedroom Condos, which will provide even more spacious accommodation options for families and groups.
As always, all construction activity will remain within the securely fenced development areas, with works carefully managed to minimise disruption to our guests. Guests may see light machinery and contractors working within the fenced development areas, with some associated construction noise at times.
Our existing resort facilities and activities will remain open for everyone to enjoy while we bring these exciting additions to life!

Our team remains committed to ensuring every guest enjoys a fantastic holiday throughout the development.
We understand that guests choose BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort to relax and enjoy quality time together, and we’re committed to making your holiday as enjoyable as possible throughout the development while these exciting new facilities are being delivered.
Works will be carefully managed to reduce impacts wherever possible and we’ll communicate openly and honestly as project milestones are confirmed. Guests who may be more directly affected by particular stages of the project will receive additional communication where appropriate.
To minimise disruption:
- Construction areas will remain securely fenced from guest areas.
- Guest facilities will continue operating as normal.
- The full development is expected to be completed within approximately 12 months from commencement. As with any major construction project, the schedule may be influenced by weather and other unforeseen circumstances. Throughout the project, we will continue to keep guests informed of key milestones.
Our team will continue to carefully manage the works to minimise disruption, and we appreciate your understanding as we invest in creating even more exceptional holiday experiences for our guests.

November 2026
- Construction of the new lagoon pool progresses, with steel reinforcement installed and concrete poured to form the first sections of the pool shell.
- Foundation works and initial construction of the new swim-up bar commence.
- Installation of essential services and construction of foundations and concrete slabs for the new café, dining precinct and amenities building.
- Foundation works commence for ten new three-bedroom Condos.
October 2026
- Excavation of the new resort pool begins, with the pool shape and shell starting to take form.
- Set-out of the foundations for the new café and dining precinct begins.
September 2026
- Site preparation continued with light machinery and contractors working within the fenced off areas. There may be some noise associated with the removal of existing materials.
- Outdoor cinema reinstalled in new grassed recreation area.
- Swing set and playground swing rocker installed near the pickleball court.
- Giant chess, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, badminton, soccer nets, BBQ hut all relocated to new grassed recreation area.
August 2026
- Site preparation commenced.
- Temporary fencing installed around the development area.
- New grassed recreation area and BBQ facility established beside the pickleball court.
- Outdoor movie location temporarily relocated to camp kitchen.
