Award-winning parks in 2023
It’s been quite the year at BIG4. We’ve seen happy holidaymakers travel every part of this great country and we’re proud that so many of them have chosen to stay at our parks along the way. Either as part of a longer trip or as the destination for a fantastic getaway.
Having added 72 new parks in 2023, there is now over 250 parks available to book on BIG4.com.au. There’s a fantastic park in practically any location you could want for your next trip. With a tremendous number of parks on board, it’s no wonder that so many within the BIG4 family have won awards this year, both externally through the various state tourism award nights as well as recognised within the group.
Below are just some of our award-winning parks in 2023.
Queensland Tourism Awards
Gold – BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday – Caravan & Holiday Parks
BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday has now taken this award home for the sixth time in the park’s history. A remarkable effort that's a testament to their hard work and willingness to always improve their park and never resting on their laurels.
Upon visiting you'll find a premier BIG4 park that's a family-friendly haven nestled in the stunning region of the famous Whitsundays. From powered sites through cabins and fancy condos, no matter what sort of accommodation you choose, you’ll be sure to have a memorable stay at BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday.
Gold – BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday – Excellence in Accessible Tourism
As if winning the gold award in the Caravan & Holiday Park category for the sixth time wasn’t enough, BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday also took home the gold award for Excellence in Accessible Tourism.
Not only blessed with an ideal location and climate, the park have been hard at work in recent years to make sure their park and its enviable amenities are available to as many guests as possible.
Offering three accessible deluxe studios and two two-bedroom premium cottage deluxe cabins for tailored with features such as ramps, wider floor plans, handrails and shower seats to accommodate those with disability. The park also boasts a sensory room among other inclusive initiatives which you can learn more about here.
Victorian Tourism Awards
Gold – NRMA Phillip Island Beachfront – Caravan & Holiday Parks
Rightly recognised as a sensational place to visit with the gold award, NRMA Phillip Island Beachfront Holiday Park is located on absolute beachfront at Cowes. It offers uninterrupted access to sandy beaches and protected waters.
The team prides itself on hosting memorable holidays for all guests and provides a range of clean and modern facilities for comfort and entertainment. You can stay your way at this pet-friendly caravan park with cabins, safari tents, caravan sites, or camping sites.
Enjoy the convenience of being only metres from the beach and take advantage of the wood-fired pizza oven, camp kitchen, BBQs, kids' playground, and communal fire pit. With attractions like the famous Phillip Island Penguin Parade and nearby cafes and shops, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Silver – BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens – Caravan & Holiday Parks
The tranquil and idyllic BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens took home the silver gong.
Just 90 minutes from Melbourne, BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park is a peaceful and private oasis in the heart of Castlemaine. With luxury glamping, sophisticated villas, comfortable cabins, pet-friendly caravan sites as well as an accessible luxury cabin; there's something for everyone. Whether it's a family holiday, romantic getaway, gourmet escape, or a break from the everyday, this park has it all.
Bronze – BIG4 Bendigo Marong – Caravan & Holiday Parks
Next up on the podium was the cosy, family-friendly bush retreat of BIG4 Bendigo Marong. Just 12 minutes from downtown Bendigo; enjoy spacious cabin accommodations, luxury glamping options, or bring your caravan to one of their large sites.
The park is also dog-friendly, with a self-serve dog wash and an off-lead area. Golf tragics will also rejoice at the news of a golf simulator in-park!
With a warm country hospitality, this park is the perfect base to explore the region's attractions and relax in a stunning bush setting.
Highly Commended and finalists – Caravan & Holiday Parks
Also recognised at the awards as a finalist was BIG4 Airey’s Inlet, the perfect place to base yourself on the surf coast.
BIG4 Ingenia Inverloch near Phillip Island and Wilson’s Promontory, BIG4 Riverside Swan Hill on the banks of the mighty Murray River and BIG4 Tasman – Bright in the spectacular High Country were all recognised with a highly commended in the category.
Tasmanian Tourism Awards
Gold – BIG4 St Helens – Caravan & Holiday Parks
BIG4 St Helens is a family-owned and operated business boasting one of the most enviable locations in the country; perfect for exploring the stunning East Coast of Tasmania.
The park is no stranger to winning awards, having even been inducted into the Tourism Tasmania Hall of Fame in 2010! It's award-winning ways aren't likely to change as it boasts a variety of accommodations, from self-contained cabins to powered or unpowered sites and even has a new bunkhouse area.

Silver – BIG4 Launceston – Caravan & Holiday Parks

South Australian Tourism Awards

Bronze – BIG4 Renmark Riverfront – Excellence in Accessible Tourism
Congratulations to BIG4 Renmark Riverfront Holiday Park for continuing to be recognised for their inclusion efforts. The park offers a six-birth two-bedroom family accessible villa. However, that's not it! In 2018 the park became the first on BIG4.com.au to open up a sensory room dedicated to guests on the autism spectrum, believed to have been an Australian industry first at the time. Voters Choice – BIG4 Renmark Riverfront – Accommodation
Of course as the winner of Voter’s Choice for the accommodation category you’ll find more accommodation options than you could possibly need at BIG4 Renmark Riverfront. From three-bedroom villas and two-bedroom pool houses and cabins and glamping through to powered and unpowered sites for those who wish to bring a van or tent of their own.
However, it's not just impressive accommodation that awaits. You'll also find a water park, outdoor movie theatre, tennis court, and more. Whether you fancy relaxing by the resort pool or challenging each other in the games room, there's fun for the whole family.

BIG4 Annual Awards
Unveiled at our BIG4 National Conference in the Hunter Valley in late October, the Gala Awards Night honours excellence among BIG4 branded parks. While there were a bevvy of winners on the night, below are the parks that took out our group’s highest honours.
Des and Margaret Watts Supreme Award for Excellence (National Winner) – BIG4 Sandstone Point

Supreme Award for Excellence Winners
