Bongaree Beach

Natural Attractions

Bongaree is the best family-friendly beach on Bribie Island, with its gentle waves, shallow waters and parklands that run parallel to the water along Welsby Parade. There are plenty of picnic shelters, tables and barbecues for visitors wanting to have a family picnic or catch up with friends. Being a popular destination, it’s best to get in early and reserve your spot, particularly on sunny weekends.

The beach is also home to a jetty, great for fishing or bomb-diving into the water (safely, of course). The gentle waves make this beach a popular kayaking and stand-up-paddle-boarding location, or just a fun spot for the kids to run around and play or build sandcastles from the beautiful white sand.

Aside from the picnic areas, Bongaree Beach has several cafes, takeaway shops, a grocery store and an ice-cream shop all within walking distance.

Sound like the area you want to explore? Bribie Island Hire Hut has electric bikes, stand-up boards, kayaks, water bikes and more!
