Ocean Beach
Arguably Denmark’s premier stretch of sand, Ocean Beach is perfectly positioned between Wilson Inlet and the Great Southern Ocean. It suits swimming, surfing, and other water leisure and is patrolled during summer.

Denmark Historical Museum
Retrace the stories of Denmark’s past in a building that once was a police station. A huge collection of artefacts, photos, and other items bring yesteryear to life. Note: limited opening times apply.
Denmark Chocolate Company
This sweet attraction serves up a huge assortment of handmade chocolates that are simply delicious. And for a tasting experience with a difference, these goodies can be paired with various liqueurs, ports, and even beers. The hot chocolates are hard to go past, too.

Denmark Animal Farm & Pentland Alpaca Stud
Get up close to various creatures at this excellent family-friendly attraction. The farm features a nursery with an interesting assortment of animals. And at 3pm each day, the various babies are bottle fed, which offers a prime time for visitors to interact with the likes of joeys, lambs, and even ferrets.
Denmark wineries
Denmark is a sub-region of the wider Great Southern wine district, so expect to stumble upon a cluster of alluring cellar doors and accompanying restaurants. Leading varieties of this cool-climate area include pinot noir, chardonnay, and riesling alongside sparkling wines.
Willoughby Park is a great choice: Along with a cellar door and restaurant, it’s home to acclaimed Boston Brewing Co., which has a generous selection of tasty beers among a superb setting. And there's a free shuttle bus service from BIG4 Denmark.
Denmark Dinosaur World

Must-visit attractions near Denmark, WA
A trio of treasure-crammed national parks make for excellent daytrips from Denmark.
William Bay National Park
A visit to William Bay is the absolute must-do activity when in Denmark. It’s filled with dazzling white sand beaches and turquoise waters; glorious Green Pools steals much of the attention and Madfish Bay Beach is another beauty.
The brilliant beaches are often surrounded by booming boulders: quirky Elephant Rocks is an icon. And with wildlife, wildflowers, and walking tracks aplenty, William Bay cements itself as a photographer’s delight.
Those up for a challenging hike should take note of the 4km return path to Monkey Rock. The widespread views from the top are sensational.

West Cape Howe National Park
Claiming prized territory on the southern coast between Albany and Denmark, West Cape Howe explodes with sparkling, dramatic landscapes. Shelley Beach is a crowd-magnet and jostles for attention along with wildflowers, headlands, and karri forest among more.
Distance: 40km southeast of Denmark.
Walpole-Nornalup National Park
A sea of green dominates another not-to-be-missed national park in these surrounds. Walpole-Nornalup is headlined by cloud-touching tingle trees that form part of the wider Walpole Wilderness. The best way to take it all in is via the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, a 600m-long path suspended 40m high.
Among other natural features are rivers and wetlands, while a lookout at Conspicuous Cliff reveals limestone cliffs and an untouched beach. Whales can be glimpsed from this vantage point in season, too.

Random fact
In case you were wondering, Denmark has no link to the well-known Scandinavian country of the same name. The town was named by Dr Thomas Braidwood Wilson who was the first European to explore Denmark and its surrounds. He named Denmark after a former tutor of his at the Naval Medical College in England.
