Get ready for Albany 2026 - a year of epic celebrations
The year 2026 is monumental for Albany (Kinjarling) as it marks the bicentenary — the 200th anniversary of Western Australia's first settlement.

Albany 2026 is a year-long program of events led by the City of Albany and guided by local Elders and a strong artistic vision. It reflects honestly on the past, celebrates the community today and looks ahead to a future built on shared understanding and reconciliation. Expect large-scale light installations, intimate performances, traditional yarns, great food and community gatherings, with plenty still to enjoy before the year ends.
