Wilsons Promontory National Park, or The Prom, is one of Victoria's most celebrated natural destinations - where granite mountains, white sand beaches, coastal forests and abundant wildlife combine to create an unforgettable outdoor experience. At the southernmost tip of mainland Australia, the park offers everything from relaxing day trips to multi-day wilderness adventures.
Discover spectacular beaches including Squeaky Beach, Whisky Bay and Norman Beach, enjoy picnics at Tidal River, or explore the range of trails. Nature walks, coastal circuits and summit hikes such as Mount Oberon offer breathtaking views. Experienced hikers can explore remote corners of the park on bookable multi-day hikes through the Southern Circuit. Overnight hiking permits are required.
Tidal River is the main visitor hub, providing access to walking tracks, beaches, picnic areas and wildlife viewing opportunities, with native wildlife common throughout the park.
Visitors can extend their stay with a range of bookable camping and roofed accommodation options, including cabins and other accommodation at Tidal River, and accommodation at the historic Wilsons Promontory Lightstation. Camping and accommodation bookings are required, particularly during peak periods.
The Prom can also be experienced through licensed tour operators offering amphibious boat cruises to Skull Rock, whale watching, guided cycling tours, horse trail riding and surf lessons.
