This isn't just any car. In a beautiful nod to history, the sculpture captures Harry Bishop, of Charters Towers' who opened the very first motor dealership, NQ Motors Ltd., at the wheel. Seated in the back is his daughter, Dorothy Bishop — herself a trailblazer as Queensland's first woman certified as a pilot.

The Bishops were true pioneers: Harry Bishop helped introduce motor vehicles to North and West Queensland in 1908, selling REO Motor Cars, bicycles, oils, lubricants, and accessories from his bustling Gill Street showroom. His forward-thinking spirit didn't stop at the ground level; it soared into the skies, inspiring his daughter to become a pioneer of commercial aviation across Queensland.
