Known as a hilarious performer on The Big Gig, a popular sketch comedy series in the 80s and 90s, Jean has since authored several books and is an Ambassador for Palliative Care Nurses Australia.

A long-time advocate for palliative care, Jean is sharing her heart-wrenching story about the challenges she faced when trying to access care for her parents. Sadly, her parents died without access to palliative care. Now she is working to raise awareness of our healthcare system which is unable to cope with dying and death.

Jean will be speaking at the Death Expo 2025 - a wide-ranging event to demystify death, dying and grief. Organised by a volunteer committee of Toowoomba professionals, this free expo includes a range of speakers, discussion panels, and displays to encourage thought-provoking discussions.
