Launch point: Park at Surfside Beach, where the trail begins.

Route: Paddle around the point to Cullendulla Creek, then continue to Square Head and around Snapper Island, before returning to Surfside Beach or finishing at one of the landing stops along the way.

Cullendulla Creek: This significant spot can be explored by kayak or on foot, and is best explored on higher or between tides. Land your kayak here to walk the Cullendulla Nature Reserve boardwalk, which has interpretive signage on the area's Aboriginal history. The upper end of the creek features the historic remains of a railway.

Snapper Island: Snapper Island is a nature reserve near Square Head; landings are not permitted, but paddlers can circle the island to take in its scenery.

The Batemans Bay Kayaking Trail suits paddlers wanting a mix of coastal, creek, and island scenery, with the option of a short stop to explore Cullendulla Creek's history and boardwalk, and flexible finishing points along the route back to Surfside Beach.

Distance is dependent on which route, but the return trip may be approximately 14 kilometres.
