Bermagui
Bermagui hugs the edges of its stunning harbour and is situated under the shadow of Gulaga (Mt Dromedary), once an active volcano 60 million years ago.
From Wallaga Lake in the north to Mimosa Rocks National Park in the south, Bermagui offers spectacular nature, adventure, fishing, history, local produce and dining experiences and of course, relaxation.
Surf, swim, kayak, SUP, snorkel, water ski and bushwalk at the surrounding national parks and pristine beaches and waterways. Wallaga Lake is an area of outstanding natural beauty and holds special significance for the area's Aboriginal people.
Bermagui is famous for its fishing and with the continental shelf just 20 kilometres offshore - its closest point to the Australian mainland - there's exceptional deep sea and game fishing.
Take a guided tour of the historic Montreal Goldfield. Discover the Bermagui Heritage Trail and Yuin Cultural Heritage Trail. Have a game of golf or bowls.
The main street of Bermagui has a front-row seat to stunning Horseshoe Bay, with bars, cafes and restaurants serving up delicious local fare. Grower’s markets are held weekly at Bermagui Country Club and there are also great vintage, homewares and apparel shops to be found. Festivals include Sculpture Bermagui in March and the Four Winds Festival each Easter.
