Lily Creek Lagoon
Natural Attractions
The beautiful waters of Lily Creek Lagoon lie alongside the town centre of Kununurra.
At Celebrity Tree Park along the shoreline, enjoy beautiful views across the lagoon towards the Sleeping Buddha/Elephant Rock and relax in the shade of trees planted by notable visitors to the area. A boat-launching ramp is located at Lily Creek Lagoon, accessed via the Old Darwin Road near the entrance to Kimberleyland Holiday Park.
The lagoon is also a good spot for birdwatching, with finches, jacana, honey eaters and warblers and many other species to be seen on the water and around the fringes of the water. The banks of the lagoon also provide good opportunities for some fishing.
Linked to Lake Kununurra, the wetland systems of Lake Argyle, Lake Kununurra and Lily Creek Lagoon have been designated as a wetland of international importance under the UNESCO Convention on Wetlands, or Ramsar Convention.
