Warrnambool Whale Watching
Nature & Parks
Almost every year from June until September female Southern Right Whales return to Warrnambool’s Logan Beach to calve. Logans Beach is a wonderful place to see these amazing animals up close. Often the females can be seen within a short distance of the shore while the boys spend time a little further out to sea.
Since 1935 when whaling was outlawed these majestic creatures have been regular visitors to Warrnambool. They migrate north from Antarctica to spend the winter in the relatively waters along the east coast of Australia. And often come especially close to shore at Warrnambool’s Logans Beach.
