Sometimes it can be hard to take a holiday, but you don't have to wait to take annual leave, come and visit us for a couple of days. We're in what we call a 'sweet spot' from Melbourne where you don't spend all day travelling TO your destination and instead get to spend it IN the destination!
Apollo Bay is a crowd-pulling fixture along the Great Ocean Road and is a leading seaside town that proves instantly gripping for holidaymakers. It's no wonder why we're so popular for weekend escapes from Melbourne which is only 2.5 hours away. Here are some suggestions for your next road trip:
- If you're coming along the coastline, you'll see plenty of jaw dropping views, cliff-hugging curves, and dramatic rock formations along the Great Ocean Road. You'll pass through pretty coastal towns including Torquay, Anglesea, Aireys Inlet, Lorne and Wye River, then Apollo Bay which is about halfway along the entire length of the Great Ocean Road.
- If you're driving inland, make sure to stop in at Otway Fly Treetop Adventures where BIG4 Members can receive a great discount, go mountain bike riding or gaze at Lake Elizabeth at Forrest, walk through the incredible tall trees at The Redwoods, and see waterfalls in action at Beauchamp Falls and Hopetoun Falls near Beech Forest.
- What is Apollo Bay's best outdoor attraction? You're going to need to bring your camera to admire and capture incredible scenery from Marriners Lookout, right above our park, amongst many other great spots to explore and discover.
- What happens if it's raining? Then you're going to love the fascinating shipwreck stories abound at Apollo Bay Museum, or take a look around the Visitor Information Centre in the heart of town, or treat yourself to a tasting platter at the Great Ocean Road Brewhouse. You won't be stuck for things to do!
We hope this has provided you with enough motive to take a holiday roadtrip sooner rather than later. Make sure you take advantage of our great deals to make it even more appealing.
