Fishing and crabbing in Lakes Entrance
Nature & Parks
Lakes Entrance has magnificent waterways, both in the extensive rivers and lakes of the Gippsland Lakes and the stunning Ninety Mile Beach and the vast Bass Straight lapping at our shores.
Our local waters ways are teeming with fish, which vary with the seasons. You can fish right off the shore of the lakes or the beach, bring your own boat or kayak, or even take a local fishing charter for an amazing off-shore catch!
Catching a feed of crabs with drop nets is a popular activity in Lakes Entrance. The best time for crabbing is October to January, as this is when the crabs are often largest and populations are highest after spawning.
At BIG4 Whiters, we have secure space for boat parking - please check with us in advance what is available for your stay on (03) 5155 1343.
