Lake Cania
National Parks and Reserves
Lake Cania is located just north of Cania Gorge National Park and is a favourite spot for camping, boating, fishing and outdoor adventures. Set on Three Moon Creek, a tributary of the Burnett River, the lake holds an impressive 88,500 megalitres of water and is formed by an earth and rockfill dam rising more than 44 metres high.
Whether you're casting a line, launching a boat or settling in for a picnic, there's plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Facilities include a boat ramp, picnic areas, public amenities, a kiosk, and camping and caravan parks nearby.
Keen anglers are well catered for, with Lake Cania renowned for its saratoga fishing. Other species found in the lake include bass, golden perch, silver perch, eel-tailed catfish, spangled perch, eel and snub-nosed garfish.
Bring the boat, pack the fishing gear and settle in. This is the kind of place where a quick stop can easily turn into a full day on the water.
