Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park

National Parks and Reserves

Located 30 km south of Katherine, Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park spans 1,499 hectares of rare karst limestone landscape—found in only a handful of places in northern Australia. The caves, formed millions of years ago and still slowly growing, lie around 15 metres below the surface.

The caves are home to unique native wildlife, including the Brown Tree Snake (Boiga irregularis) and the rare Orange Horseshoe Bat (Rhinonicteris aurantius). While the park is open year-round, cave access may be restricted at times due to seasonal conditions.

Visitors can also explore the Woodland Walk, a short trail starting near the car park that winds through open tropical woodland. Allow 10–20 minutes for a leisurely stroll.

Guided cave tours operate from April to October and can be booked through Nitmiluk Tours.
