Durras Lake

Stretching for around six kilometres, Durras Lake is a pristine water way surrounded by the tall gums of Murramarang National Park. It has many tributaries and shallow bays making it excellent for exploring, fishing, crabbing, kayaking and swimming.

Typical of most coastal estuaries, Durras Lake opens to the ocean at times of high rainfall and closes naturally in dry periods.

The official boat ramp is located at the end of Lakeside Drive, South Durras. There is also an informal boat ramp at the end of North Durras Road, North Durras.

Durras Lake is part of the Batemans Bay Marine Park established in April 2006. There are some areas in the upper sections of the lake that are classified as sanctuary zones, but the majority of the lake is available for recreational fishing.
