The ocean beaches are Main Beach, Shelly Beach, Beilbys Beach and South Beach, which is in the Gaagal Wanggaan (South Beach) National Park. South Beach is for experienced board riders.

There are lovely riverside beaches on the picturesque Nambucca River estuary at Bellwood Park and the Glen, which is near the river’s mouth. The estuary is also a joy for fisher folk and anyone with a fancy for kayaking or canoeing. Stand-up-paddle boarding is also a popular past-time in the estuary and river mouth.
