Agony is a body of paintings developed over the past two years, reflecting on themes of struggle, belief, and the everyday weight of being human. The exhibition explores the tension between myth and lived experience. Quiet, internal moments where doubt, pain, and reflection converge.

Through the interplay of the figure, landscape, and the screen, Mathew constructs a poetic and uneasy space, part dream, part memory, part questioning; a canvas where meaning flickers and consciousness dissolves.

Sevenmarks Gallery is a regional not-for-profit contemporary art space dedicated to delivering compelling art. The Gallery promotes established and emerging artists and is bridging the gap between regional and metropolitan art experiences through creating accessible opportunities for artists and audiences.
